 Drain v. t. [imp. & p. p. Drained p. pr. & vb. n. Draining.]
 1. To draw off by degrees; to cause to flow gradually out or off; hence, to cause the exhaustion of.
    Fountains drain the water from the ground adjacent.   --Bacon.
