a
slightly
sweet
taste

dextrorotary

is
much
less
soluble
in
water
than
either
cane
sugar
or
glucose
.
Formerly
called
lactin
.
When
hydrolyzed
it
yields
glucose
and
galactose

In
cells
it
may
be
hydrolyzed
by
