      n : a process involving fixation and dehydration and forced
          impregnation and hardening of biological tissues; water
          and lipids are replaced by curable polymers (silicone or
          epoxy or polyester) that are subsequently hardened; "the
          plastination of specimens is valuable for research and
          teaching"
