 1. Min. Realgar; red sulphide of arsenic. [Archaic]
 2. Bot. Chem. A white or yellow resin obtained from a Barbary tree (Callitris quadrivalvis or Thuya articulata), and pulverized for pounce; -- probably so called from a resemblance to the mineral.
